So after weeks of less than stellar responses from job interviews it looks like I could very well have two offers within the next week.
Only problem is the jobs appear to both be good and each have their own set of bonuses and problems (as any would I suppose).
Lots of similarities in the overall roles like they both offer a jeans and tshirt dress code for staff, full benifits and such.
One is in academia the other in the finacial market (the latter being very hard to break into without prior experience of some sort, the former being hard to get out of an be taken seriously by the business world).
Neither one is in my choosen field (networks) but one offers a management role, while the other has options to grow into security and engineering roles.
They both offer salary ranges that would be very comfortable for the time being but the higher of the two (by 10k) would also consider a 55 hour work week not abnormal.
One offers free classes the other 100% tutition reimbuisement (advantage to the option that means I don't have to part with multiple thousands of dollars to pay for grad school up front).
And the real joy, one I don't see myself staying at past finishing my grad degree, the other operates on the Jack Welsh theory of business (10% of staff are fired each year). So no matter which job I aim for they are both likely to have a short run (short in context of career).
All in all I could have much worse problems and I suppose I just need to keep that in mind.
